My favourite genre of photography by far is street photography. The freedom to just go out in the street with a camera and shoot with no fixed agenda is what appeals to me.
No pressure to get a specific image unless for a project, however it is one of the most difficult to get ‘right’. Purists will demand a complete candid approach, nothing is posed or set up, no street ‘portraits’ where the subject is asked to stand and be photographed, just clever, candid photography and to avoid the ‘cliche’ shots which have been done hundreds of times before, often walking miles in a day only to come home with nothing worth shouting about….. It ain’t easy!
Most of my street photography you will find on my blog but here’s a sample of what I’m about.
